EXTERIOR DESIGN.
The lines of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo make this vehicle appealing, combining the stylish presence of a sedan with the sporty elegance of a coupé, harmoniously . This gives the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo its individual character.
Its elongated bonnet, the short overhangs and the characteristic Hofmeister kink in the C-pillar immediately identify the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo as a BMW. The coupé-like roofline reinterprets the classic design of a Gran Turismo in an elegant and modern way and flows along to a dynamically-shaped rear. Here, the low profile of the striking tailgate and rear lights ensure a sporty finish. In addition, optional LED headlights underscore the confident presence of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo.

INTERIOR DESIGN.
The elegance of the frameless doors is the first indication of what awaits within. The interior of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo treats all passengers to stylish, selected materials, lovingly crafted with immense attention to detail.
The harmonious connection between the cockpit and the rear gives the interior its generous feel. In the maximum comfort configuration, even the rear seat contributes to this by allowing an unexpected amount of legroom in the rear. This creates a refined first-class atmosphere in the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo that entices you to linger – even when you've already reached your destination. In addition, the interior of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo is so adaptable that it's the ideal choice in any situation.
ADAPTIVE LED HEADLIGHTS.
The Adaptive LED Headlight includes Adaptive Headlight with variable urban and highway light distribution, cornering light and anti-dazzle high-beam assist featuring automatic high-beam and low-beam headlight function. The system thus provides optimum road illumination in all conditions.
The moving headlamps allow you to see deep into corners in the dark as soon as you start turning the steering wheel. To improve short-range visibility, the cornering lights are automatically activated as soon as the indicator is switched on or the steering wheel is turned, even when the vehicle is at a standstill. The Adaptive Headlights ensure optimum illumination in every situation on the road, significantly increasing active safety.
The anti-dazzle high-beam assist automatically turns the high-beam headlights on and off depending on the ambient light conditions and traffic situation, ensuring excellent visibility when driving at night. The system monitors the presence of vehicles driving ahead or oncoming traffic and continuously adjusts the high-beam headlights to avoid distracting other road users.
AMBIENCE.
The unique atmosphere of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo highlights the absolute comfort you feel wherever you happen to be seated. The centre console is aligned towards the driver.
All instruments and displays are exactly where one would intuitively look for them. With the optional BMW Head-Up Display (standard for the BMW 550i), the driver sees the most important information projected on the windscreen in his line of sight. A range of equipment is available to customise and refine the unmistakeable overall experience that is the interior of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo.
Light design
The special ambient lighting equipment provides gentle, stylish illumination. This underscores the luxurious ambience and also serves as a functional source of light, e.g. in the storage compartment of the centre console as well as in the door pockets and side lining. The colour switch function lets you create your preferred mood by giving you the choice between a bright white or muted orange light.
Multifunctional instrument display
The optional multifunctional instrument display stages the different driving experience modes with customised instrument displays. It creates worlds of colour and mood for more safety, efficiency and exemplary driver orientation. Navigation instructions and information from the driver assistance systems can now be registered even more easily at a glance. With these features, the new digital presentation distinctly increases the comfort, experience and safety of driving.
Bang & Olufsen high-end surround sound system
The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo is optionally equipped with the innovative Bang & Olufsen high-end surround sound system. Supreme listening pleasure and a magnificent driving sensation merge into one unique experience. Sixteen active speakers with a total of 1,200 watts produce music in brilliant quality. Acoustic options can be selected. For example, in 'Studio' mode, a clear sound emerges, while in 'Expanded' mode, the acoustic space appears enlarged, thus creating an incomparable surround-sound experience.
PANORAMA GLASS ROOF.
The Panorama glass roof opens up new perspectives. The additional light let in by the roof also highlights the exceptional interior atmosphere of your car. If the sun is too intense, the double floating headliner can be closed electrically.
With slide and lift functions, the Panorama glass roof provides a variety of ventilation options. The integrated, automatically extending wind deflector not only protects occupants from unpleasant turbulence but also contributes to the high level of acoustic comfort when driving with the roof open.
