The elevated seating position in the all-new BMW X1 offers you a number of benefits. The most obvious is that driver and passengers enjoy an outstanding all-round view, which simultaneously brings added safety in road traffic. An additional benefit is that entering and leaving the all-new BMW X1 become substantially more convenient for all passengers. Not least, this seating position also allows you to appreciate the particularly generous proportions of the interior. In combination with large window surfaces and the optional Panorama glass roof, the elevated view creates a pleasantly generous sense of spaciousness.

PASSENGER SEAT BACKREST, FOLDABLE.
The optionally available front passenger seat with foldable backrest is testament to the high flexibility and well thought-out layout design. The backrest can be completely folded down forwards with ease, creating a virtually flat surface. This enables longer items and sport equipment up to a length of 2.50 metres to be transported.
ADJUSTABLE REAR SEATS.
A key feature in the outstanding versatility of the all-new BMW X1 are the adjustable rear seats, which slide longitudinally in a 60:40 ratio. This makes the cargo space even more adaptable – you have the choice between more legroom for the rear passengers and an increased luggage volume. An easy-to-reach handle below the seat allows convenient adjustment of the second row. The angle of the backrest with its 40:20:40 split is also adjustable. This means an additional gain in comfort for the passengers and a further extension to the luggage compartment.
LOADING WITH COMFORT.
In the all-new BMW X1, the experience of exceptional comfort begins even before you set off. Behind the wide-opening tailgate, for example, is a generous luggage space at a convenient height for loading. A highly flexible interior with folding passenger seat backrest and variable rear seat offers space for bulky objects such as bicycles.
CONTACTLESS OPENING OF THE TAILGATE.
When you're standing in front of the vehicle with your hands full and wish to open the luggage compartment, there’s now no need to fumble in your pockets for the car key. The Comfort access system with automatic tailgate activation enables you to open the luggage compartment with your foot. A sensor triggers the tailgate, which unlocks and then swings open automatically.
